Rainstorm - February 2008


On Monday February 11th 2008 thunderstorms dumped torrential rain on the Castle Hill area. In the village approximately 62mm of rain and hail fell in the space of one hour with rainfall rates of up to 174.6 mm/hr being recorded by the weather station. Stormwater drains overflowed sending water flowing down roads and through properties. Debris from the downpour also blocked the Thomas River bridge.
